School Story:

I was at STC grades 2-8 and graduated with the 1960 class. Thanks for extending this invitation since some of my BD acquaintances were 1961 grads.
I attended Jesuit then Bishop Dunne but did not graduate Bishop Dunne. David Calabria (may his soul rest in peace) and I both flunked Jesuit in our freshman years. Bishop Dunne was not open for boys. I flunked Latin only at Jesuit and it became my favorite subject at BD. David and I wound up at Bishop Dunne as "frosh" again.
At BD, goofed with Kowalski (may his soul rest in peace) and Danny Taylor and Billy Powell. Billy and I lived in Cockrell Hill. Billy stole a putter from the minature golf place in Cockrell Hill in May 64 before finals and got caught. I was with him. And I took the hit for Billy without even knowing it. Not mad at you Billy! Long story. The police chief owned the course and arrested us. Remember that little course in Cockrell Hill? My dad left me in jail for 10 days to teach me a lesson. Brother Martin said no way Jose will you come back to Bishop Dunne. Needed to get out of the house anyway. A much better door opened.
So, I dropped out of HS before my senior year (Brother Martin kicked me out) and I left home August 1964. Got a job and moved to Gaston. Then off I went to CA in July '65 and lived the beach life of absolute fun but in near poverty. Surfed and partied. Stupid stuff in the South Bay areas of LA.
Came back to Texas, worked various jobs before landing at Frito Lay headquarters for 25 years in Engineering. Mostly management. Went to the education side in 1994 at Arlington ISD as an administrator, managing Student Records, Transcript Services and Image Processing.
Have BBA/MBA.
Funny, Brother Laurent whom I thought the world of, is a family member of Hank Burden's. Hank and I are still buds way back to St Cecilia days. He went to Sunset. Hank married Kathy Yeager, a STC and BD alumnus.
Life is good. Restore antique cards for a hobby (have 62 vette and 58 impala convertible) and possess a reasonable degree of financial security. And a pretty lady adds spice since my divorce in 2002.
Through the years I have noted the passing of STC folks like Mrs Winifred Bedford who wanted to teach me voice and, of course, our STC fave Father Vogel. Mitch Womble, George Rick, Zita Loupot and I attended his funeral.
At STC had a crush on Mrs Callahan and my fave sister was Sister Teresa. Her and her monkey-claw back scratcher which, when used, showed some degree of discomfort.
Brother Laurent and Brother Arens(sp) were faves at BD. Brother Martin had anger issues. I recall Sister Benita Frances never smiling.
I passed the security fence and took digital pics just after demolition began of the church. Even climbed to the choir loft and shot what was left of it. Shared those pics with the 60 grads. See if I can post some here.
NICE SITE THAT HAS BEEN CREATED. MANY THANKS TO JOHN THOMPSON.

Great story Jerry. Super Happy Birthday.
I believe you went to Bishop Dunne for a time. Where did you spend your high school years? I really enjoyed being around and talking to you.
