Donnie Ballor goes airborne Posted Monday, June 22, 2009 10:23 PM
We were out on the goathead infested playground. If you remember, we had a pretty good slope back to the "forest" behind us. We were playing something like football and Donnie raced down the slope at break-neck speed. Well, it almost turned into break neck as he didn't see the clothes lines. The sisters from the home next door dried clothes out there most days, but none were there that day. At least, not enough to see the bare line in front of him. And these were metal lines. It was all in slow motion as I watched Donnie contact the wire, go almost instantaneously horizontal, stretch the line till the poles began to bend, and come flying back to the ground. Surely embarassed, he jumped up immediately protesting that he was fine. Throughout it all, his glasses never left his face. You'd think I would have learned a lesson from that BEFORE I went to BD and ran through the glass panel. I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous! |

Didn't this happen to someone--was it Raleigh Davis--on the day of our graduation? |

RE: Donnie Ballor goes airborne Posted Thursday, June 25, 2009 09:34 PM I think it happened to Raleigh Davis as he was walking to Ann Calabria's house. |
